Contract Types for Drivers:
Drivers can choose between 1099 Independent Contractors or W2 Employee Contracts.
Minimum Driving Experience:
At least 24 months (2 years) of CDL-A driving experience is required. Some exceptions apply but not less than 1 year.
Payment for Miles:
All miles—loaded and empty—are paid, calculated ZIP to ZIP.
Payment for Detention, Extra Stops, Layovers, and Inspections:
- Detention: Paid in full as per broker rate.
- Extra Stops: $30 each.
- Layovers: $125/day.
- Inspection Bonuses: $150, $200, or $500 for clean DOT inspections (Levels I-III).
Driver Payment Information:
Drivers are paid weekly via ACH deposits every Friday. The first paycheck is issued after the first week (“one week in the hole”).
Operational Areas:
Primarily Midwest, South, and Southeast. No drivers from the West Coast or Florida.
Default Home Time (except Florida):
- No home time for the first 2 weeks.
- After that:
- 2 weeks on the road = 2-3 days off
- 3 weeks on the road = 3-4 days off
- 4 weeks on the road = 4-5 days off
- Reset at home is allowed if loads align.
Truck Speed:
Trucks are governed at 69 MPH.
Truck Equipment:
- Trucks include Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Cascadia, International.
- All automatic transmissions (no manual trucks).
- Equipped with fridge, inverter, and microwave (if requested).
- APU available in some trucks.
Orientation:
- Mostly online. On arrival in Chicago, drivers must:
- Take a 15-minute road test.
- Complete some in-office paperwork.
- Travel expenses (flights, hotels, bus/train tickets, Uber rides) are covered.
Truck Assignment during Orientation:
Trucks are assigned based on availability and performance during the drive test.
Pet & Rider Policy:
No pets allowed. No rider policy.
Truck Parking Expenses during Home Time:
Drivers must cover their own parking expenses while on home time.
